"When tourists come to my village, they always visit the school.  There is way I go and ask for my dollar.  Sometimes I get a dollar, sometimes I don't.  I am 9 years old and studying in grade 1.  Both of my parents are fishermen.  I like playing soccer and support all Khmer teams.  When I grow up, I want to be a professional soccer player too.  If I have lots of money, I would like to buy a nice car."

"When I was young, I never had any dreams as it was war time.  Now, my dream is to be part of the political party as I want to help my country.  I am 58 years old and a tuk tuk driver in the city of Siem Reap.  Although I only completed grade 4 at school, I am proud of my achievements in life.  I was a farmer most of my life and it was tough because farming is hard work.  I am glad to save up enough money for a tuk tuk 5 years ago and now I can enjoy having my own business and its freedom.   I live a happy life and I have a lovely wife and 8 grandchildren to play with."

"This BBQ food store is a couple of kilometers away from my home and I normally walk here and back.  I come here 3 times a week because my daughter is married to the family.  I am a rice farmer and have 6 children.  I don't have enough money to keep all my children in school and only 1 of them is studying now.  Very often, I have this serious headache and I can not bear with the pain sometime.  I don't visit the doctor as it costs money, however, if tourists give me medicine and I will take them."
