Say Good-bye to the Buffaloes!

"I believe education will help me for a better future!  I am 20 years old now and just returned to school to study at Grade 7 again this year.

You see, I quit school when I was 16 whilst studying in Grade 7 because my family is poor.  There are 8 brothers and sisters in my family and I am the 6th.  My family used to have a few buffaloes and I was the one looking after them.  One day, my father asked me to stop going to school and to look after the buffaloes. I wanted to take care of my family so I followed his advice.

Did you know looking after the buffalos is TRULY hard work?  I used to get tired all the time!  I spent 4 years looking after my family, looking after the buffaloes.  At times, I thought about my life and also my dreams.  I know that looking after the buffaloes is not going to help me in my future.  So, I decided (my decision alone!) to return to school!

My fellow students in Grade 7 are around 13 years old and I am like a big brother in class.  I am a bit shy about the age gap sometime, but it is ok because I just want to learn.  

​I don't have a girlfriend because I want to focus on my study.  When I am not studying, I work at my brother's stall and to help out my family.

​My school results are good and I am ranked as the 6th in class in terms of my school performance.  My dream is to become a police or doctor and I believe education will help me to reach my dream.  

I am not going to stop completing school this time and there is no way I will return to looking after the buffaloes!"
