Labouring with Love

"When my father died, I had to stop school at grade 5 and started working in the farm. 

I got married at 25 and my husband works at a construction site.  We have 2 children and I used to love him a lot…  

You see, he tends to drink a lot and is drunk often.  Not only me but my children also got hit in many occasions when he was drunk.  

I never thought about going to the police nor running away with my children.  Guess that I don’t think the police will be able to help me and I am the only one here to support and care for my children.

I recently started working at a construction site for $5 a day.  I want to earn more money so that I can send my children to school and perhaps rebuild our family home one day.  

My dream was becoming a teacher, but now I just hope to raise my children up in a good way.  So that they can be educated and be strong for their own future."
