Child with adult responsibilities...

"I am 10 years old now and have a little sister who is 5.  When I cycle to and from school, I have to take my sister on the back as my parents are busy.  My father works at a construction site and he can't read or write.  When he comes home

after work, he likes to drink beer.  My mother is a farmer who also makes mats from tree leaves for money.  I am responsible for plenty of chaos including cooking, washing dishes, cleaning, laundry etc.  I love going to school as I can learn many things.  My dream is to become a doctor one day so that I can help my family and buy many books."

Through PeopleStories, he has recently got a sponsorship that will support his completion of high school.  Without this help, it is unsure if his family can support his education. Children are often required to start working very early on in their life in order to financially support the family whilst saving school fees.
